The Grand Marina Bay Sands Blog: The Suite
The Marina Bay Sands in Singapore has become an overnight icon for the tiny island nation. Who would have thought that a spectacular hotel could topple the iconic Merlion in front of it. In fact, the Merlion is currently undergoing a renovation, and during my time of visit, was nowhere in sight.
All may have been said about the Marina Bay Sands. Most Filipinos are dazzled by its grandness, especially its towering lobby. It's a spectacle indeed, as soon as you step inside. However, with the thousands of visitors it receives each day, you will be immediately transported to a world of craziness than grandeur.
We were in Marina Bay Sands after our weekend Redang excursion. And like most Filipinos, we were here to watch The Lion King. So, for our last night in Singapore, we decided to splurge and book the most basic room in Marina Bay Sands at P16,000 a night (booked through Agoda).
Turned out it was the best decision we made this trip so far. Struck by good luck, we were upgraded into an Executive Suite in the 23rd floor of this 57-storey hotel. As soon as realized we were walking towards the end of the corridor, our eyes began to widen.
And just like that, a sudden rush of adrenaline overcame us. This was one big and luxurious room. It had a foyer and an office desk complete with a printer.
It had a huge bathroom that had a retracting shade revealing a glass window that framed a wonderful view of the bay. The separate shower was big enough for 6 people to shower at one time, and the toiletries were abundant.
I opened the 42 inch LCD TV and received a personalized welcome note. There was a walk in closet, a very comfortable king size bed and a lounge.
But perhaps, what made my jaw fall off was the spacious balcony overlooking the sea. The balcony was big enough to accommodate a party for 20 people. How I wish I had this big of a balcony. We had 270 degree views of Singapore from the room. We had to contain our excitement on the room, since we had 10 minutes left to catch the Lion King.
The next morning, we decided to have breakfast in our grand balcony. This was something we wouldn't want to miss. We spent the entire morning inside the room, enjoying all its luxuries. More on Marina Bay Sands up next...
how many people can sleep in the room? legally? illegally?
ReplyDeleteHi, I just came back there recently and brought my family. We were two adults and two children. This is the maximum I guess (or 4 small adults).
