Bohol Bee Farm

The Bohol Bee Farm is a popular destination in Panglao Island. The resort and restaurant is located on the way to Alona Beach, so one can stopover for breakfast, lunch or brunch there.

The Bohol Bee Farm is a sprawling resort with a popular restaurant overlooking the glistening Bohol Sea. There's no beach, but there's a view deck where one can jump off from to snorkel and swim.

The food here is considered to be organic, meaning, most of their ingredients are grown from their backyard. Most of the dishes are also vegetarian, hence, their menu is limited with healthy choices.

Their popular flower salad is a perennial favorite, and I have seen this been copied in other countries as well. The salad is quite refreshing, although the flowers have some bitter spots.

The food is not really exceptional in my opinion. This penne dish was bland and I had to season it further. Well, that's organic and healthy for you.

The pizza was good, but I think the crust can be enhanced further. I don't know how they cook it, but with this result, I think it was just baked in a convection oven.

The Bohol Bee Farm has a very interesting souvenir shop, that sells various Bohol merchandise and of course, their own products such as honey, the malunggay bread and many others.

The shop was colorful inside out, and one can even buy hats and bags that they can decorate. You can also see how these products are done in their workshop.

There's also the Buzz Ice Cream, which sells unique local flavors such as ginger, pandan and malunggay as well. The ice cream is all natural and made without any preservatives, making it a very healthy dessert option.

The Bee Farm offers guided tours in their place, so you can better appreciate what it has to offer. There's the bee farm of course, and other activity areas, such as the weaving area. You can also see how they grow what you eat in the resort. There's also a huge venue for weddings and functions, located in this area with the swimming pool.

  1. i liked that herb penne and the bread with pesto spread :) the spareribs was good too. For desserts, the malunggay & ube ice cream and halo-halo were so delish.
