El Nido's Top Beaches: Part 3 (Las Cabanas/Maremegmeg/Vanilla Beach)

We continue our series of the top beaches in El Nido with the one that has garnered much attention in recent years. Made famous by the Gen Z crowd, this beach exploded in the Internet as young and beautiful people snapped pictures of themselves with limestone karst formations in one of the most beautiful sunset scenes in Southeast Asia. For those NOT in the know, welcome to Las Cabanas Beach.

Las Cabanas is El Nido's answer to White Beach in Boracay. Located 10-minutes away from the town center, it has gorgeous resorts, a mall of sorts, beach clubs and bars and of course, the quintessential perfect sunset. Transportation is readily available.

Las Cabanas Beach can be easily accessed via The Shoppes at Vanilla Beach. Don't confuse yourself with the name. Las Cabanas is alternatively called as Vanilla and Maremegmeg Beach. Head further down left and the impressive Maremegmeg Beach Club, where the scenery suddenly changes. Now, you will be able to hear the gentle splash of water blending in with the undulating beats of the local DJ.

Maremegmeg Beach Club is the most desirable resort in the area. Being next to the Shoppes and right at the center of the action, it sits on the best good location. They capitalize of course, on one of the best sunsets in Southeast Asia, so make sure to grab a drink and sit down on the famed steps as the day ends.

Maremegmeg Beach Club also boasts of luxurious rooms and suites that offer the ultimate in relaxation. Like the resorts in Corong Corong, they also offer some of the best ocean views in El Nido. The promise is to sleep, dine, lounge and drink all day long. They serve up good a wagyu burger and ceviche.

Up in the sitio, several new hostels and boutique hotels such as Perch, are opening to cater to this growing market. With a mall and beach clubs at your doorstep, Las Cabanas Beach is clearly not going to lose its visitors just yet. You can also paddle board, zipline and even kayak the surrounding islands, which is a highly recommended activity.

Head further down and you'll see more of the surrounding limestone islands. Las Cabanas Beach Resort is at the bend, so imagine getting corner views of the spectacular sea. Tip: Get their mango shake and mix coconut rum with it.

Las Cabanas Beach certainly is for those who want to chill out after a long El Nido islands excursion. They serve the best sunset parties in town, not too wild and relentless. Maremegmeg Beach Club takes the spot of El Nido's social set who are either debriefing their day's work with cocktails on hand or convincing their guests from Manila or Cebu to extend another night in paradise.
