Viaje Del Sol Series: Sitio de Amor
After a hearty and home cooked lunch at Casa San Pablo, we then decided to visit Sitio de Amor, a sprawling 4.5 hectare landscaped orchard. It is also situated near the Maharlika Highway. You turn left at KM 88 (watch out for those small markers), upon seeing a very small sign that leads you to the place.
The property is huge and you'll get that feeling when you enter massive gate pillars of the orchard. e were met by the catertaker as the owner was not around. She told us that all their guests had just left, so we had the entire place to explore ourselves.
Sitio De Amor is a huge garden oasis in a the middle of a coconut plantation. You will notice how well maintained it is considering its size. When I got out of the car, I thought I was visiting some relatives or something. It was inviting.
Sitio de Amor is trying to make business so they put up a pavilion ideal for garden weddings and other special events. We were led to the man made lagoon, which was the highlight of the place, as written iIn the Viaje Del Sol map,. The lagoon was like a huge swimming pool, fed with fresh water from the Balanga River. Unfortunately, they had just drained out the water. I could just imagine how pretty the place would look if the lagoon was alive.
We were then brought to see 4 of their rooms. The first one had an amazing view of the lagoon. It had floor to ceiling glass paneled doors and walls that opened up the room to the lagoon. Imagine waking up to a wonderful view of the water and the sun. the room called Lanzones can be rented for around P4,000.
The caretaker then told us about their new tree house, which can house up to 10 people. So we rushed along the landscaped pathways. The tree house was not up on branches, but more of embraced the massive oak tree. The living space had a kitchen, a long dining table, a balcony, a bedroom and a bathroom that had a jacuzzi. I felt like a kid, exploring my own luxurious tree house. We were told that this can be rented for P10,000 for 10 people. I just wondered where the 10 would sleep, since there was only one bedroom with one queen sized bed. Well, the 2nd floor had lots of space for extra bedding or sleeping bags.
Moving on, we visited the last two rooms, which were a duplex type. The design was very Filipino, with Spanish type windows and antique furnishings. One room even had a nice open air bathroom.
All in all, Sitio de Amor is another spot where you can relax. You can swim, go horse back riding, pick rambutan from its trees, have a massage or just laze around. There are huts and patios spread around far apart from each other. It is like having your own hacienda, and with only 4 rooms, you can just imagine how private it can get when the day tours are over. But for now, onwards to our next destination!
